What happened: BLM activist Quintez Brown, 24, attempted to assassinate U.S. Mayoral Candidate Craig Greenberg in Louisville. The left-wing extremist shot at Greenberg four times. There is currently no known motive.
The shooter's left-wing past: In 2018, Brown was on the Joy Reid show advocating for gun control after a Flordia school shooting.
- His Instagram contains many far-left viewpoints and reads: “We have one scientific and correct solution, Pan-Africanism: the total liberation and unification of Africa under scientific socialism.”
- In 2021, Brown announced that he was running for Louisville Metro Council.

Fundraising bail: Brown was released on bail after his $100,000 bond was posted by a bail fund supported by his local Black Lives Matter chapter. CNN host Rex Chapman also helped raise money for that bail fund.
- The BLM Louisville organizer who co-founded the bail fund told the outlet that Brown would be safer out of prison.
- Brown's bail is consistent with the recent progressive fad of criminal justice reform that puts criminals back out on the street.
The mayoral candidate speaks out: "It is nearly impossible to believe that someone can attempt murder on Monday and walk out of jail on Wednesday," Mr. Greenberg said on Thursday.
