Social media companies are determined to steer COVID-19 discussion.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many proposed treatments and conflicting evidentiary claims. While the scientific approach is to sort through possible perspectives and solutions, Big Tech suppresses all medical authority it deems illegitimate.

2020

  • The press conference video of Dr. Stella Immanuel, who treated hundreds of COVID-19 patients, was removed from all social media for promoting Hydroxychloroquine (BBC).

  • Healthcare company ATYU BioScience developed a prototype for "Healight," a UV light treatment for COVID-19 performed in the lungs. Despite their admission that the treatment was untested and not yet approved by the FDA, the demo video was removed from YouTube, and their Twitter account was suspended(Wall Street Journal).

  • Critical care specialist Dr. Pierre Kory, president and co-founder of Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, advocated using certain drugs, particularly Ivermectin, against the virus. When he testified twice in front of the U.S. Senate as the guest of Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), all footage of the proceedings was taken off YouTube (ABC 7).

2021

  • YouTube removed video coverage of Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) and his COVID-19 discussion board consisting of multiple physicians due to their rejection of “the consensus of local and global health authorities regarding the efficacy of masks.” (NBC News).

  • After Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of mRNA vaccines, spoke in a podcast about the possible dangers of the COVID-19 vaccine, YouTube removed the video, and he was blocked from his LinkedIn account. The mRNA technology he created is now used for COVID-19 vaccines by Pfizer, Moderna, and others (TechStartups.com).

  • Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), a licensed doctor in ophthalmology, spoke twice against the effectiveness of masks in videos posted on YouTube. He spoke with Newsmax and in discussion with a journalist where he cited two peer-reviewed studies. YouTube removed both videos, issued a “strike” on his official Senate account, and suspended him from posting for several days (NY Times, Senate.gov).

Big Tech is upfront about who decides what medical choices you should make.

YouTube Help Center: “YouTube doesn’t allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities’ or the World Health Organization’s (WHO) medical information about COVID-19.”

Facebook Help Center: “...for the duration of the COVID-19 public health emergency, we remove content that repeats other false health information, primarily about vaccines, that are widely debunked by leading health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

Twitter Help Center: “...we are enforcing this policy in close coordination with trusted partners, including public health authorities, NGOs and governments, and continue to use and consult with information from those sources when reviewing content.”

“Medical misinformation” policies, on behalf of dogmatic government entities, silence dissent and claim consensus where there is none. It’s not science. It’s censorship.
