DeSantis Keeps Battling Wokeism, Signs "Stop Woke Act"

The law will prohibit workplace training or school instruction that teaches that individuals are “inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously” based on race, gender, or national origin.

On Friday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation that affects how schools and corporations can push partisan ideology.

What does the “Stop Woke Act” do? It will prohibit workplace training or school instruction that teaches that individuals are “inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously” or oppressed based on race, gender, or national origin.

It also prohibits teaching that a person should feel responsible for actions committed in the past by members of the same race, gender, or national origin.

“In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida,” said DeSantis.

Going back to Disney: As we covered almost a year ago, Disney's diversity and inclusion program required its employees to learn that America is racist, equality is bad, “white values” are bad, and the police should be defunded. You can read about the program here. The Stop Woke Act would prevent trainings like these.

From the left: A recent NBC column argues that DeSantis has turned Florida into a Nazi-like totalitarian state. In reality, Gov. DeSantis’s measures prevent indoctrination in schools and are popular.
