Battle of Influence: Ron Desantis Goes on the Offensive Against George Soros

“The left is taking control of our local media. They are coming with their ideological agenda."

Recently, a George Soros-backed financial group purchased several Spanish-speaking radio stations in the Miami area.

An investment entity affiliated with Soros Fund Management purchased an influential radio network amongst Latino Americans. Stephanie Valencia, a high-ranking staff member in the Democratic Party and Soros affiliate, told the public that the network would influence nearly one-third of Hispanic Americans.

Why did he buy it? The now Soros-led Latino Media Network will broadcast to Miami, holder of the largest population of Cuban Americans. Cuban Americans have long been a staunchly conservative demographic and are vocal supporters of current Florida Governor Ron Desantis. This purchase is likely intended to influence and, thus, curb Cubans’ enthusiasm for the rising star in conservative politics, Ron Desantis.

Desantis plays offense. In response to such news, Governor Desantis preempted Soros’ takeover of the regional station, speaking directly to listeners, saying: “The left is taking control of our local media. They are coming with their ideological agenda. Soros and his minions know what this community represents in the fight against socialism in America. This community will not get confused… Florida is standing against the corporate media and leftist disinformation.”
