So, you're thinking about moving. Your blue state is hard to live in. Taxes are high, homelessness is everywhere, schools are brainwashing kids, and you’re tired of wearing a mask. I bet Texas looks good right now. Stop it.
You don’t get to destroy a state and then leave.
And yes, this is directed at conservatives. Liberals were so focused on screwing the rich that they voted in the highest taxes possible, while conservatives did nothing to stop it. If there was something worth conserving, we failed and let leftist freedom-hating and socialist-loving ideology win. Capitalism and freedom are now dirty words. We messed up that bad. If that sounds scary, I’m talking to you.
You let this happen. I let this happen. We let this happen. It’s a hard truth to swallow. We didn’t fight back, and now this is our reality. To be fair, we boiled slowly, like the parable of the frog - but if that frog knew of the Marxist dystopia ahead, it would’ve leaped out like a ribbiting Paul Revere. That’s what I’m doing. We weren’t as smart before, but we need to be now. Last year showed us that. It was a God sent because we realized how bad things could get.
The good news is that it doesn't have to be like this.
The pot is boiling and people feel it. It sucks not being in Florida, Texas, or any other state that still values freedom, but you’ve spent your life building connections, memories, and community. Don’t leave that. Fight back and get involved because fleeing isn’t sustainable. Eventually, there will be no place left to flee to. We won’t have a nation, just states.
Let me cast a vision: your city, whether it be Chicago, NYC, Seattle, wherever you are. Imagine it's under the conservative influence. Imagine feeling free. Imagine the common value in individual freedom, where a government would never force you to shutter your business or arbitrarily wear masks. People would be taking responsibility for themselves.
You might be thinking, Gentry, this sounds great, but how?
The first step is to let your local Republican leaders know that you want to fight. Get involved with conservative organizations (Young Republicans, TPusa, YAAS), a church, and keep up with local politics. That means knowing what laws are passing in your town and state, really.
Help with campaigns. Hand out flyers. Lead instead of following. Encourage your friends to do the same. Stop relying on the government. Be your own person. Buy property, start businesses, build and never stop. This is our world, and the future is in our hands. I know it’s scary, but take that first leap, and the rest will come naturally.
It will be the most rewarding thing you ever do. That’s a guarantee.
You might not see the fruits of your labor, but the next generation will. People will look up to you for fighting for what was right. Your kids and grandkids will honor and respect you because you stood for something at a time when many were too afraid to. There is glory in that. There isn’t glory in running away.
Let’s put this into perspective. Eighty years ago, Americans put their lives on the line to defeat Nazism. Their faith in God led them to heroism. Staying in your Blue state and fighting is the bare minimum you can do.
Even more, let’s get biblical. Imagine leaving your city because it was hard, and then years later, in heaven, seeing Shadrach Meshach, Abednego, Daniel, or Peter? They all died for their faith, the ultimate sacrifice. How would a conversation with them go?
“What did you do on Earth?”
“Well, I ran because it got hard.”
You don't want to have that conversation. Imagine this one instead.
“What did you do on earth?”
“Did you see how Seattle changed? That was me. I took a stand and fought to take back our city.”
I live in Seattle. It’s saveable. LA and every other city are saveable. It won’t be easy. It'll take everyone to get in line, get involved, and fight for freedom and the principles that made this country great.
