Pro-Life Laws Sweep Red States

Conservative legislatures pass pro-life measures as the Supreme Court is poised to weaken or overturn Roe v. Wade.

Florida

• Banned abortion after 15 weeks.

• No exceptions for rape or incest.

• Exceptions for medical emergencies.

• Law takes effect July 1.

Kentucky

• Kentucky is now the only state that doesn't offer abortion services.

• The law is already in effect.

Oklahoma

• Made it a felony to provide an abortion, punishable by ten years in prison.

• No exceptions for rape or incest.

• Law takes effect in August.

Arizona

• Banned abortion after 15 weeks.

• No exceptions for rape or incest.

• Exceptions for medical emergencies.

• Law takes effect in late June.

Louisiana

• In 2018, banned abortion after 15 weeks.

• It will take effect if Mississippi’s 15-week-ban takes effect. The Supreme Court is currently blocking it.

Texas

• Has had a law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. The law has not been blocked by any court.
