San Diego Schools Are Teaching That Traditional Gender Norms Are 'Harmful' and 'Oppressive'

School facilitators were taught that “heterosexual and cisgender privilege” is directly correlated with racism, classism, and heterosexism.

San Diego’s public school system wants to normalize new sexual identities and sexual education while removing the concept of “heteronormativity” and traditional views on sex.

The ideology: Based on publicly accessible documents from a training held at the San Diego Unified School District, facilitators of LGBT student groups were taught that “heterosexual and cisgender privilege” directly correlates to racism, classism, and heterosexism. The training also claims that “gender binary,” or traditional gender, norms are harmful and oppress “trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people.”

The new curriculum will teach students the basics of queer theory and include photos of gender-nonconforming role models. It will include:

  • New sexual identities,

  • Elimination of traditional language in classrooms,

  • Helping students transition between genders without informing parents,

  • Sample questions on sexuality in the classroom like “Is it okay to masturbate?” and “What does semen taste like?”

  • Discussions on oral, anal, and vaginal sex.

Big picture: Indoctrination in gender and sexual ideology is happening nationwide. A leaked curriculum in Portland showed that elementary school students will be taught radical gender theory and how to “pause puberty.” Second graders in New Jersey’s public school system will be learning about gender identity in the fall under new state education guidelines.
