While promising to bring a vaccine to citizens before 2021, Trump passed dramatic measures to mitigate COVID-19 spread.

Dr. Fauci reinforced this claim in April saying that Trump listened to his advice about mitigation efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 .

Media & Democrats Say 'Impossible'

The MSM and Democrats claimed that a vaccine by the end of the year was highly unlikely. Most criticism claimed that Trump was using the vaccine as a political tool for reelection.

“But from everything that I’ve heard from folks, I don’t think that we should expect a vaccine this year.” - Fox News

The Reality: Trump Was Right

With President Trump's leadership, the United States already approved two COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna) with others in the final stages of clinical trials.

  • 550,000 Americans have already received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine to date.

Federal officials project to vaccinate 30 million people in January and another 50 million in February. Pfizer and Moderna expect to produce 1.3 Billion and 1 Billion doses respectively in 2021 (2 doses per person).
