Background: In late March, CNN announced CNN+, a subscription streaming service that would combine live news coverage, on-demand content, and interviews. They wanted to become the Netflix for news.

Two weeks later: CNN+ is reportedly seeing fewer than 10,000 daily users. According to Axios, $300 million has already been spent promoting the platform, and substantial budget cuts have been panned.
