In the first congressional hearing about UFOs in over 50 years, two U.S. intelligence officials testified that unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) are real and that the Pentagon is “committed to a focused effort to determine their origins.”
No explanation: While most UAPs can be isolated, analyzed, and identified as physical and explainable objects, “a small handful” are unexplainable, flying without any apparent propulsion. A recent intelligence report said that the Pentagon had no explanation for 143 of the 144 UFO sightings reported since 2004.
No aliens: The officials assured that the UAP task force had not found any material to “suggest [the unexplainable UAPs] is anything non-terrestrial in origin.” But, officials do not believe that any foreign adversaries are “capable of flying an aircraft without any discernible means of propulsion” either.
