Thousands of users on social media rushed to their phones to post photos of empty grocery stores over the weekend.

Mass labor shortages: The consumer-packaged goods industry is missing around 120,000 workers right now, and most grocery stores are operating with less than 50% of their workforce.

What’s causing the labor shortages:

  • The surge in Omicron cases and workers quarantining
  • Workers fired because of Biden’s mandates and other corporate mandates
  • Fewer people want to work because of stagnant wages and higher inflation

Administration ignoring the problem: These problems won’t fix themselves even after omicron fades. Instead of addressing them, the current administration is focused on Build Back Better (that would worsen inflation) and federalizing voting laws. The 5G fiasco doesn’t help either, potentially delaying cargo.
