What Elon Musk's Twitter Might Look Like

Make the algorithm public: The algorithm decides what content is shown to users. Many have criticized recent social media algorithms for political bias, so Musk wants to make the algorithm public for transparency.

Rewrite the rules for free speech: Over the past couple of years, Twitter’s terms and conditions have grown to allow the platform to censor content as it wishes. In some cases, Twitter has changed the rules after censoring specific content to enable it in the future. Musk, who sees himself as a free speech absolutist, will change the content moderation policies to follow the constitution’s understanding of free speech. Former President Trump will presumably see his account reinstated.

Jack Dorsey, the former Twitter CEO, tweeted on Monday that “Elon is the singular solution I trust. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness.”

Housekeeping: Twitter has a bot problem—fake accounts programmed to tweet about specific topics to influence the conversation. Musk wants this fixed. He also wants to rework the monetization model to reduce reliance on advertisements.
